i was expecting you to check the camera in third party applications (like instagram, twitter etc.) to see how they handle the situation there. i mean, these applications may put the camera view anywhere in screen and i wonder what happens when the camera location coincides with a non-black portion of the display.

New innovations should be cheap to sell as much as possible like after overhead expensive a pull 2-5% profit. If Samsung sold the Fold z at about $1000 mark then the sale will most like quadruple. If it's sold at too high price it won't be adopted to main stream and will be a niche or gimmick. Tech such as VR headset , foldable phones are way too expensive.

Looks okay to me. Can easily be ignored when watching a video. Would be better rounded or like a hole punch shape. I think the gloomyness can be corrected via software feature like heavy sharpening? Force shadows and highight correction? Force contrast? Force image leveling? I don’t know. But those are the Photoshop tools I use to lessen the gloomyness of any photo.

all the other specs and technology of phones had improved drastically throughout the years, but just one thing that's still using more than 10 years old tech that literally has no company able to improve, guess what it is? 😏

I like the popout front camera on my OnePlus. Pops out and then retracts, completely hidden, no impediment to the screen. No eyesore like the iphones. Plus I barely ever use the front camera.

i think they should just make the front facing camera retract from the top of the phone. I'm not an engineer or anything, but i bet they could do it if they really wanted to, but maintaining the thinness of the phone might be hard. Again, i really don't know. But i would definitely prefer it to be that way instead of the under display

Last year when the Samsung s10+ was released in the market. I was also wondering that the next phone will have no visible camera on the front and let the screen (LCD display) will be only handling to capture some images on the front but this phone makes my imagination more beyond. And now I'm so happy because my imagination became true.

In my opinion, if you have to squint and stare to see the camera, it's miles better than a hole punch or notch. I will say though, that the video looks like the lens was slightly fogged up around the edges. Not very clear, but not bad for new technology.

The texture on the inside of the case is so it doesn't stick to the phone and look like its wet on underneath. Many clear phone cases have that

The pop up camera is a much better implementation for the people that barely take any selfies. I take one or two every weekend when I'm out and about and that's pretty much it. My current device is a Oneplus 7T Pro Mclaren
