Be forewarned, i bought a new MacBook with Final Cut Pro. When setting up the device, the MacBook apparently didn’t recognize me as the owner. Could not update FCP or any applications as none of the applications were assigned to my Apple ID. I was told by apple support to delete, than reinstall. Did not work because apple stated it could not assign FCP that was preinstalled. After waiting a week, I decided to returned the device. It took me two days and multiple tries after being transferred from department to department to return. It’s sad but if I cannot use it for what I purchased it for, than I will return it.

I got the M1 MacBook Pro (16GB RAM, 512GB Storage) and ditched my early 2013 MacBook Pro. Review: I absolutely LOVE the Touch Bar! Underrated. Makes daily use faster, customizable & great layout (also instant-skip video ads!!) The battery can run 12-14 hours with multiple apps open and running at full energy consumption (including plugging in a USB lamp that further drains the battery). Also Zoom used to eat about 40% battery per hour on my old computer, now it's less than 10% per hour. Apparently the microphone is slightly better quality than the M1 Air? Either way it's improved from my old Pro (with Zoom work these days that's an important feature for me). Interestingly in the three weeks I've had it I haven't noticed the fan turning on once. Makes me wonder if the Air would've been worth the $300 US savings but I'm 10/10 happy with my Pro.

I have just picked up the Air and I gotta say the battery is OUSTANDING, I can easy get a whole day and then some running just on battery. I am so impressed with what Apple has done here, and I look forward to seeing what competitors do as a response. Went for the Air cos I don't like the touchbar and it is the cheaper variant. Loving it.
